REUNION AFTERMATH

The 10 Year Class Reunion has come and gone. The Class President and Reunion Committee put forth a lot of effort in the plannings. Unfortunately; there was last minute changes with the original plans that may have put a damper on some things as far as people that were traveling and so forth. Sorry for the inconvenience. Hope all that attended had a wonderful time. For those that attended please post your experiences for the others to see.

Fortunately; just like a Spartan; we didn't give up. The last minute changes that were made in trying to Reunite the Class of 1999 were successful. Thanks to all involved for their patience and understanding; we did have a 10 Year Class Reunion.

Please keep in touch Class of 1999 with each other throughout the lifes journey.
Once a Spartan always a Spartan.

REUNION LOCATION CHANGE

IMPORTANT REUNION INFORMATION CHANGE

Class of 1999:

We have exciting news about the reunion and upgrades received. We received a proposal from Jungle Island that not only matched the price of $65.00 per person but included a whole bunch of extras. Additionally, they were willing to accommodate those individuals who sent in payments today. The Sonesta Bayfront Hotel was unable and unwilling to match this proposal or accommodate late payments so for the benefit of your hard earned dollar we felt it best to provide you more for your buck.

As such the new location for the reunion is:

New Location: Jungle Island

New Address: 1111 Parrot Jungle Trail
Miami, Florida 33132

Same Start Time: 7:00 pm

Same Attire: Semi-Formal

Same Price: $65.00 (3-course dinner)

We truly hope the location change does not add to the confusion because here are the extras you will receive:

- One Drink Ticket (cash bar will be available)
- One additional extra hour to party (Event will last until 12:00 pm)
- Butler Passed Hors d’ Oeuvres (5 selections to choose from)
- Free Sodas all Night
- Close and easy access to South Beach as well as beautiful views from the roof top terrace

For those of you who need or wish to book hotel accommodations, we’ve secured the same $99+tax/nightly rate at the Marriott Biscayne Bay (1633 N. Bayshore Dr., 305-374-3900) located less than 5 minutes from Jungle Island. Ask for the standard weekend rate at booking.

Our apologies for any inconvenience this change may pose and we hope you understand we are trying to plan the best reunion possible at the most affordable price and we have only had 9 days to pull it all together.

Change of Plans...

For those of you who are not aware the original plans for the Class of 1999 Reunion were canceled earlier this week. We thank the class officers for their efforts to try and put this together and it is unfortunate it did not work out. After overwhelming support for the reunion to continue; another individual stepped up to the plate and is taking over the planning.

Social Event

Sorry for the delay. By now you may have received notice of the Social Event postponed from December 2008 and was rescheduled in February 2009. I hope the ones that attended had a really great time. It served it's purpose; for us to get together and mingle.

We are still looking for missing Alumni. If you know if anyone that may not have received word of the upcoming reunion please pass the message on.

As mentioned early on; there was talks about a "Social Event" to take place soon at Dave and Busters. The date wasn't set but now it is narrowing down to what was being decided. I haven't heard anything thus far. I know we all are busy with our lives and I have been doing my best to keep you guys updated on things thats going on. Ok so whats the word on the Social Event...I haven't been able to get in touch with the Class President about this yet so if you have heard...whats the word? Are we still dong the Social Event?

PEP RALLY: SHOUT OUTS II

As I said before and let me say it again; we know, Fridays are are "NOTORIOUS" for Pep Rallies at the 'Ridge. Unfortunately, we might have out grown them. No one wants free money? I know I'm not to good to get free stuff. The Shout Out Contest didn't work out so I will be discontinuing the contest. There were no voice messages left. Therefore I can keep my lil' money and get myself something. But I will continue on with the Pep Rally News and keep you all updated on things as they come to me.

Ya'll still can shout out to the family if you want...we would like to know what's up with you.

Continuing on...the deadline is approaching for those of us that will be attending the Social Event at Dave & Busters. The date is yet to come...remember it is $36 per person. Make checks or money orders out to "CASH" only.

It's Friday! Another Pep Rally...As I mentioned in the last Pep Rally that Fridays are 'NOTORIOUS' for Pep Rallies at the 'Ridge. So I want to continue the CRAZY FUN... SHOUTING AND REPPING!

Last weeks Pep Rally asked for you all to leave a message on the voice mail. A random winner would receive a $$gift/gas card$$.

What happened? There was no Spartan Spunk...No one left a message between the dates the contest was running. :(

Heres your chance to make it up. This weekend only...I am extending the Shout Out contest through Sunday; October 5th, 2008. After that we will move forward...after all as Spartans we are about leaving traces not backtracking.

Same rules apply...gift/gas card will be $25 in value.

I hope this message reaches all of you in good health and spirits. Well it is almost about that time. Ten years will be here really soon. As most of you probably know, I am coordinating our 10 Year Reunion . This is a great task, but I am excited about it and look forward to the success of our reunion. I have a great team of people from our class who are working with me in planning and coordinating this event. There are many activities that I plan to incorporate into our reunion to make it a memorable and successful event; but also to allow us this opportunity to network and create or renew relationships (personal, social, and/or business).

Details regarding the actual reunion, which will take place in the summer months of June or July 2009, will be disseminated soon. See tentative schedule below. There will be some requirements of each of you who plan to participate. This would include gathering and emailing pictures from our high school years, purchasing or contributing ads to the program I plan to create for the reunion, registering for the reunion, updating me on persons who are no longer with us, contacting persons who have not sent me their contact information, etc. There will be fees associated with this event. However, I plan to make it as affordable as possible, with high intentions to include our families or guests in events.

I am currently in contact with Dave & Buster’s (Dolphin Mall, Doral, FL) to coordinate a social event for us this year (October or November 2008). Cocktails and Socializing will be the premise of the event. Please email me if you are interested, so that I can have an idea about quantitative numbers to give to the sales manager at D & B in an effort to get us discounted rates for food, drinks, and games. It will most likely be a buy your own (drink/food/games) event where we can all sort of reconnect, network, and socialize. I would use this opportunity to get registration paperwork and necessities taken care of and other things of that nature.

As we know Fridays are NOTORIOUS for Pep Rallies at the 'Ridge.' So you know what that means...CRAZY FUN...SHOUTING AND REPPING!

Today's Pep Rally will kick off the 1st Official Contest.

All you got to do is leave a CLEAR message on c/o '1999' voicemail below. The message should clearly contain your name, location, and briefly tell us you've been up to. Once you leave a message, thats it. Simple huh?

There will only be (1) randomly selected winner and the winner will be announced in the next Pep Rally. Instructions on how to claim prize will be given. Once you win and receive your prize please return and tell everyone about you winning.

Hi Spartans,

Most of us spent fours years or so at Southridge. No matter how we got there or when we got there we will always be Spartans. Walking the halls, going to class, mingling with friends, at the football games, even ditching school. (Yeah some of ya'll did that too). No matter it was whatever...we represented for the 'Ridge' to the fullest.

Looking back I do miss being in school and hanging out with you guys, yet we were so anxious to get it over with...boy how time flies...

So let's Remember the Spartans...

I can remember about ev'ry year during the last days of school when they would turn lunch into a Goombay! Do you?

LETTER FROM C/O "1999" PRESIDENT

As you probably know by now, I am coordinating our 10 Year Reunion. I noted in the last letter that I would be coordinating a social event for us this October/November. This letter is to provide the details regarding this event. The event would be held at Dave & Buster’s in Dolphin Mall, Miami, FL (Doral Area).

It would be from 6 pm until 11 pm. Available dates are November 29th, December 6th, & December 13th. The cost would be $36.00 per person (adult aged). This price includes food, cake, beverages (non-alcoholic), and the split cost for the facility based on 60 persons participating. If there are more than 60 people participating, the additional funds will be used for door prizes or something of that nature. The facility offers pool tables for $8-$14 per hour. You can also purchase power cards for the games area for $7-$50. If you are interested in participating I would have to collect the total amount due (# of participants x $36.00 tax is already included) before October 30th, 2008.

I have set up a P.O. Box specifically for C/O 99 business. Money Orders or Cashiers Checks made out to "CASH" would be the only acceptable form of payment. There is a 50% deposit that would have to be put down to secure the spot so I would need to receive a response by September 25th, 2008 letting me know if you are interested in order to secure the space at the facility.

Please also let me know which date is preferred. Everyone’s preference will, of course, not be able to be met, but at least a majority can be met.

Location: Most Likely Crandon Beach Park, Key Biscayne, FL
Event Description: Beach Bar-B-Que (Family Event)
Activities: Children’s games-slide, snow cones, bounce house, etc.
Some Adult Contests (e.g. Bikini, Talent, Comedy), Raffles, Catered BBQ, Card Games, Beach Activities, etc.
